Crossing Over
New Year’s Eve, 2025
The still point has arrived, again,
the time to cross over,
to inhale courage,
to step with gentle intention
over the threshold
of what’s been known,
uncovered, discovered,
loved and held closely
into the mystery
of open palms.
I choose to travel
with nothing but a torch
to illuminate my way
through sacred shadows
and burning bushes
and a keen desire
to seek what is deep
and hallowed
and true,
my sight on the stars,
trusting in the way.

Your photo reminds me of this mosaic that I encountered in a church, now a museum and UNESCO World Heritage site, [image: IMG_2835.jpeg] in Albania. Both suggest the cycles of time, as does your lovely poem.
