Rise Up
Rise up, for the tomb is empty,
our call clear.
Rise up to shine the Light.
Grind the dried palms
of betrayal under your feet
and raise the lilies of peace.
Piece together the torn tunic
And make it a garment of unity.
Drop the silver coins
into the hands of the hungry
and feed his sheep.
Turn out the false judges.
Rise up against kings.
Share the myrrh, the nard,
with those in grief,
those who fear,
those who hide.
Lay down the sword
to meet him in the garden
upon the soft fragile
and fragrant earth
he alone created.
For too long we have not
recognized him.
Today is the day
to resurrect Love.
He is risen
indeed
only when we
rise up.
